Souter Trading is a buying house for UK and overseas companies. We source and supply Electrical, Marine and Industrial equipment together with engineering spares for British, European and American installed equipment. We are ISO 9001 registered and supply the nuclear power industry in South Africa and China.

A key aspect of the company’s success is a database of suppliers and equipment built up over ten years. This database lists over 1,700 suppliers and many thousands of engineering, marine and electrical spare parts indexed by product type, manufacturers’ name and part code as well as Trade names.

This enables the Company to identify specialist and obsolete parts from manufacturers such as ALSTOM, FRAMATOME, ABB, valves from DEWRANCE and HOPKINSON, Compressors from HOWDEN, Mechanical Seals and Packing from JOHN CRANE and JAMES WALKER, HOWELL STANWAY Pumps, BROOK CROMPTON Electric Motors and Fuses from GEC and BUSSMEN.

Where original manufacturer’s spares are no longer available we can often supply suitable replacements. In addition we can supply engine spares, bearings and even refractory mortar.

Souter Trading offers a procurement service for industrial equipment and spare parts for UK and overseas customers. The company specialises in the power generation (utilities), and marine industries. It provides the following services:

• Sourcing Agent for equipment and industrial spare parts in the power utility and marine sectors.
• International trading house / buying house for this and other equipment
• Export agents – arranging the logistics to transport the goods to the customer country as freight forwarders
• Outsourcing agents – companies outsource their purchasing of equipment to Souter Trading and the company acts as a ‘sweeper’ for ‘non-contract’, hard to get or ‘obsolete’ equipment
• Supplier of scheduled maintenance items
